Gadar 3 Is All Set To Roll With Sunny Deol But Ameesha Patel Will Return To Franchise Only On THIS Condition

Director Anil Sharma says his bond with Ameesha Patel is “great now” after their Gadar 2 fallout. While Ameesha admits to creative differences, she’s open to Gadar 3 only if the script excites her. Sharma confirmed the sequel is ready, focusing on Tara and Jeete, with filming planned in two years.

That whole messy fallout between director Anil Sharma and Ameesha Patel during the launch of Gadar 2? Looks like it’s finally cooled off, at least on the surface.

Back when things blew up, Ameesha made it clear she felt blindsided. She said the film’s ending got changed without her even knowing. She’d expected a much meatier role in the Sunny Deol juggernaut, and didn’t hold back about feeling let down.

Is all good between Anil Sharma and Ameesha Patel?

Anil Sharma, for his part, brushed off the drama, calling her “moody” in an interview but still saying he saw her as family. When asked if things are better now, he told News18 Showsha, “My equation with Ameesha is great now. Waqt ke saath saath sab cheezein sahi ho jaati hai. Abhi sab badhiya hai!”

Thing is, rumour has it Ameesha’s got a new condition she’ll only return as Sakeena if her love story with Tara Singh stays front and center.

When pressed about this, Anil said, “Sakeena and Tara are an integral part of Gadar. But we’ll discuss more about her character before the release of Gadar 3.”

What did Ameesha Patel say?

Ameesha hasn’t exactly kept quiet either. She hopped on X for a chat, owned up to “creative differences,” and said she’d only sign on for Gadar 3 if the script genuinely excites her, just like the first movie did.

Later, on Maniesh Paul’s podcast, she claimed parts of Gadar 3’s climax were shot without her. Still, she seemed ready to move on, saying she’d let bygones be bygones though she won’t budge without proper contracts and paperwork this time.

On his end, Anil Sharma says the Gadar 3 script is ready to roll, and fans won’t be waiting decades this round. “Gadar 3 will definitely get made… We’re hoping to take it to the floors in the next two years. We’ve already worked on the script. It will focus on the stories of Tara and Jeete,” he said.

He also couldn’t help reminiscing about Gadar 2’s insane box office run last August, 20 lakh tickets sold on the first day alone, making it the fourth highest-grossing Indian movie of the year.

“I think no other film has been able to create that kind of history,” he said, sounding pretty pleased with himself.
