National Award-winning Indian filmmaker Kamakhya Narayan Singh makes his directorial debut through The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond.

The sequel to The Kerala Story will arrive in theaters on February 27, 2026, because the film’s leadership team has completely changed since the first movie. Singh, who comes from Guwahati, started his career in television and documentaries before he entered the world of feature films.

His documentary Justice Delayed but Delivered and his 2021 film Bhor, which examined sanitation and empowerment issues, have established his reputation as a filmmaker who creates socially aware films.

Kamakhya Narayan Singh: Cinematic Advocacy and Fact-Based Narratives

Kamakhya Narayan Singh establishes his identity as director by delivering “uncomfortable truths” to his audience. The Kerala Story 2 shows his documentary-style filmmaking method because he claims that the script follows actual court judgments and police records that have been officially documented.

Singh has publicly defended the film’s controversial themes, stating that his objective is to sensitize the public about systemic conspiracies involving demographic shifts and the exploitation of young women.

Through his use of cinema as a social awareness tool, he demonstrates how “traps,” which appear as romantic relationships, actually function to deceive people throughout the entire country.

Kamakhya Narayan Singh: Directorial Execution and Thematic Expansion

Singh expands his storytelling through this sequel by exploring three different characters, who include a scholar, an athlete, and an aspiring influencer, played by Ulka Gupta and Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha.

Singh’s direction of the film goes beyond its original story by showcasing various geographical regions that include Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala. His method shows how these women endure mental and social demands, which he uses to show their path from success to disappointment.

The film obtained a U/A certificate under his supervision, which Singh approved because it enables young viewers and their families to watch the movie and learn about personal safety and identity.
