Amaravati Floods Expose Naidu’s Failures: Ambati Rambabu

Senior YSRCP leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu launched a scathing attack on the Chandrababu Naidu-led government, accusing it of mismanagement and deception over the recurring floods in Amaravati. He alleged that instead of addressing the crisis, the government was resorting to filing false cases against the media to suppress facts.

Rambabu questioned whether the government could deny the reality of water stagnation in the capital region. “Is it not a fact that water stagnated in Amaravati due to rains? Did it not turn into a virtual sea?” he asked. He recalled Naidu’s own admission of lifting floodwater from Kondaveeti Vaagu, which he said was proof of Amaravati’s vulnerability.

The YSRCP leader said he personally witnessed villages and colonies submerged under floodwaters. “If TDP leaders have doubts, I will take them to see the situation. Pumping water into the Krishna River itself shows Amaravati’s fragile planning,” he asserted.

Rambabu pointed out that last year vital infrastructure—such as the High Court road, Seed Access Road, iconic towers, officials’ colonies, and TIDCO houses—was inundated. “This year too Amaravati is underwater. Instead of admitting failure, the government is harassing the media for exposing the truth,” he said.

He further questioned the justice meted out to farmers who had surrendered 53,000 acres for land pooling. “Why was that land left undeveloped? And why acquire another 43,000 acres? Is this justice to farmers?” he asked.

Turning to other issues, Rambabu demanded strict action against TDP MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar for allegedly abetting the suicide attempt of a KGBV principal. “If Naidu has any shame, he should arrest Ravi Kumar,” he said.

He also accused Naidu of deceiving women with false free bus travel promises and targeting actor Jr. NTR. “Lokesh fears Jr. NTR’s popularity, so they threaten to block his films. Naidu used and discarded the NTR family,” he alleged.

Rambabu said: “False cases cannot hide the truth. Farmers’ pain is real, their lands are submerged, and Naidu’s failed Amaravati model stands exposed before Andhra Pradesh.”
