WWE fans were in for an emotional and heartwarming surprise during the latest episode of Monday Night RAW (August 18), as Naomi officially relinquished her WWE Women’s World Championship following the announcement of her pregnancy. The reigning champ, who won the title at Evolution by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on IYO SKY, shared the news alongside husband Jimmy Uso in a heartfelt video clip aired during the show.

Naomi Steps Away, But Promises a Comeback

Naomi revealed that she discovered she was six weeks pregnant on Sunday (August 17), just days after her SummerSlam triple-threat match against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. Her scheduled title defense against SKY last week was canceled due to medical reasons, which now makes perfect sense.

The champ stepped into the ring and laid down her title belt, officially vacating the championship after a memorable 36-day reign. In her speech, Naomi made it clear she would return, joking that she’d be ready to win it back even if she had to do it “while breastfeeding in nine months.”

Support Pours In From Fellow Superstars

Following the announcement, WWE stars took to social media to share their reactions. Jade Cargill, Naomi’s former on-screen rival and real-life friend, was one of the first to respond, commenting humorously on WWE’s Instagram post: “Girl I hate you so bad!!! CONGRATULATIONS,” with a flurry of emojis.

Becky Lynch, who famously gave up her own title due to pregnancy in 2020, chimed in with a sarcastic jab: “How irresponsible getting pregnant as a champion.” The light-hearted message was a nod to her own experience and friendship with Naomi.
