In an exceptional show of implacability and mastery, incumbent world champion Neeraj Chopra has also qualified in a spectacular session of the Diamond League 2025 Final in Zurich. This qualification was made after the recent rankings were published after the Silesia leg, even though Chopra did not compete in the same.

More about the Qualification

Currently 27 year old Chopra has racked up 15 World Ranking points during the two outings in the Diamond League circuit this year alone. At the Paris leg, he took gold after throwing a massive distance of 88.16 metres, and came in new record fashion of 90.23 metres at the Doha leg, creating yet another new national record, and again he won a gold medal. The recent rankings have Chopra in a second position tie with Julian Weber of Germany (15 points respectively). At the top of the rankings are 2012 Olympic gold medalist of Trinidad and Tobago Keshorn Walcott who with an addition of 17 points in 3 events finishes second in Silesia after recording a throw of 82.54 m.

What is the date of Diamond League 2025 Final?

The last one is scheduled to take place on August 28 in Zurich with the Diamond League champion of 2025 getting crowned. Others who are also expected to compete are other exciting names such as 2 time world champion Anderson Peters and Brazilian Luiz Mauricio da Silva, to lend more weight to the field.

Interestingly, despite his qualification, Chopra has not official confirmed whether he will compete in the Zurich final, a move that is eliciting excitement of fans and analysts alike. The latter accomplishment confirms the elitism of Chopra within the world of javelin. He has already won an Olympic and the World Championship, but his debut in the final of the Zurich is a precondition to a new historic success. Switzerland will be in the spotlight as the best javelin the special performers of the season will be squaring in to win the Diamond Trophy.
