One of the biggest clashing social media moments in the T20 World Cup 2026’s ultra energetic scene was a video of a “heated exchange” between Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha that went viral.

The short video, which went viral, was taken during the game between Pakistan and Namibia when the former had no option but to win their group match.

It showed a visibly angry Agha throwing a water bottle to the floor while Hesson was just standing there, thus fuelling the rumours of a rift in the leadership group.

Nevertheless, Hesson has brushed off the rumours as a complete misunderstanding, explaining that the incident was actually the captain’s frustration with himself after getting out.

Here is the Viral Video:

The Dugout Drama: Why Salman Ali Agha Threw The Bottle During The Namibia Clash

Hesson dismissed the rumours about a rift after a viral clip showed captain Salman Ali Agha throwing a bottle during the game against Namibia.

The Pakistan head coach explained that the anger was voiced by Agha against himself after the dismissal, which happened while the team was having a normal tactical discussion about Mohammad Nawaz. Even though “sheepish” Babar Azam was just watching, Pakistan is still a unified team.

“I’ve actually been sent that video, and you guys have really got that wrong. I was going over to talk to Salman about getting Mohammad Nawaz to put the pads on as a left-hander, and Agha was upset that he just got out, so he threw the bottle into the ground. It had nothing to do with the conversation we were having.”

“So it was a really simple conversation that he wasn’t even part of. He was just standing there, being pretty disappointed that he was out, and just happened to be in the crossfire. Amazing what people can interpret sometimes.”

T20 World Cup 2026: Pakistan Takes On New Zealand in Their First Super 8s Clash

The T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8s lights up at Colombos R. Premadasa Stadium as Pakistan takes on New Zealand. Both teams come into the game with different momentum. The Kiwis are backed by Tim Seiferts stability, while Pakistan is energised by the genius of Sahibzada Farhan. Given that the weather forecast is for heavy rain and the group also includes England and Sri Lanka, making it a tough one, this opening encounter has to be a win for either side.
