WWE AAA TripleMania XXXIII Sets New Standards, Breaking Viewership, Attendance, And Merchandise Records

WWE and Lucha Libre AAA had a historic weekend when TripleMania XXXIII in Mexico City broke records in terms of viewership, attendance and merchandise sales. The mega event was the most successful show in the history of AAA with huge attendance both in live and online.

Record-Breaking Viewership and Global Reach

The show was also streamed on an unprecedented scale with it being aired globally on the YouTube accounts of WWE and AAA. Over 4.3 million viewers watched it in less than 24 hours and at one point, there were 614,000 fans viewing it live.

These figures cement TripleMania as the largest event in the history of AAA as well as one of the most-watched lucha libre events to be broadcast worldwide to date. It was an indication of the mutual cooperation between WWE and AAA to bring Mexican wrestling nearer to the rest of the world.

Attendance and Merchandise Surge

The show attracted a record attendance of 19,691 fans at Arena CDMX and was the biggest lucha libre event in Mexico this year. It was also the largest-ever live gate in history of AAA and demonstrates the growing interest in premium wrestling entertainment in the area.

Sales of merchandise also reinforced the success of the night, creating an all-time record of AAA. The fans flocked to the venue not only to see the spectacle but also to take a part of the history making event back home.

WWE and AAA Headliners Deliver Drama

Also in the social media, TripleMania was the top trending topic on X in the United States and Mexico, racking up 208 million views across the WWE and AAA official accounts. The main event was the AAA Mega Championship Fatal 4-Way Match and it delivered.

El Hijo del Vikingo managed to keep his title in an exciting conclusion that had a twist of fate. AJ Styles came in a mask and caught Dominik Mysterio unawares with a Styles Clash. Vikingo took advantage and Mysterio 630 Splash pinning to retain the belt.

Dirty Dom was in the process of spilling more gold in the Judgment Day when he was caught by surprise by Styles who replaced the matches. The moment was one of the highlights of the night with the energy at a fever pitch inside the Arena CDMX.

Title Changes and Worlds Collide II Announcement

The other championships were sold to other owners, but AAA Mega Championship was kept by Vikingo. Angel and Berto lost the AAA Tag Team Championships to Pagano and Psycho Clown. In another episode, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. won the first Latin American Title beating El Mesias.

The other mega news of the night was the WWE and AAA have announced Worlds Collide II, which will be held at The Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on Friday, September 12. The event will come immediately after SmackDown and is hyped up as the other crossover event of all time.

Ticket sales will officially begin August 22 and fans are likely to stampede in an effort to get seats in what promises to be another record-breaking instalment of the WWE-AAA alliance.
