WWE NXT August 19 Preview: Match Card, Start Time, and Live Stream Details (Image Credit - X)
The WWE NXT is simmering a fantastic go-home show before the Heatwave this Sunday. The black-and-gold brand will arrive at The Met Philadelphia with a stacked match card and storylines that has the potential to change just how to reach the premium live event.
The match is all about it to decide who will challenge NXT Champion Oba Femi at the Heatwave. TNA World Champion Trick Williams goes against Je Von Evans in a No. 1 Contender Match.
Both men have attempted their luck with Femi earlier this year in a Triple Threat at NXT Stand & Deliver. They were not there yet they were there. Only one of them will be able to walk out with a ticket to contest the biggest prize in WWE NXT.
Does Trick ride that wave to two-title greatness or does the Young OG Evans carve his own path to the title? Fans will get a tough tussle in which pride and ambition will come face to face.
The road to the NXT Championship title has also ripped Yoshiki Inamura and Josh Briggs. The friendship has bled into a sour competition and the two will get even in a Philadelphia Street Fight.
Briggs has pointed out that the respectful attitude of Inamura will not matter when the fight starts. Code of honor or no code of honor, he intends to wipe out his rival before a hot crowd at Philadelphia.
The Street Fight will be a riotous, energetic event and that is what The Met requires in its gritty environment. The fight is personal and both superstars are not going to walk away unscathed.
The women section is also brought to the front as action is high stakes. Jacy Jayne will be facing Masha Slamovich and Ash by Elegance in a Triple Threat Match in defense of her TNA Knockouts Championship at Heatwave. Jayne is in tag team action first though.
Jayne is teamed up with Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx of Fatal Influence to fight The Elegance Brand. Slamovich is to be the special guest referee as an added drama, a move which will certainly rattle the defending champion.
The stakes will be high and the match can be the precursor to what can happen at Heatwave when the Knockouts title is actually on the line.
In another match, Ricky Saints has another rematch with Jasper Troy. Their final match was also contentious where Troy was announced the winner via count-out after crashing through the ramp of Saints. Saints will be out to revenge this time.
Other matches on the card include Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe with a possible Heatwave match to ensue. The two should expect fireworks when they share the ring before their confrontation.
To give the night a lighter touch, the Canadian couple, Chelsea Green and Ethan Page will offer a Peace Treaty to Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steel. The future remains to be seen as to whether this olive branch would lead to peace or to more war.
