IngredientsYou’ll need 3 raw green bananas, ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp salt, and 2 cups of water for soaking. Use 1½ to 2 cups of coconut oil for deep frying.
Step 1 – Peel and PrepareCut off the ends and peel the green bananas. Make sure they’re firm and raw, not the sweet yellow ones.
Step 2 – Thinly SliceUsing a slicer or knife, slice the bananas into thin, even rounds. The thinner you slice, the crispier the chips!
Step 3 – Soak in Salt-Turmeric WaterSoak the slices in a bowl of water mixed with turmeric and salt for 10–15 minutes. This gives color and removes excess starch.
Step 4 – Pat DryDrain the slices and gently pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. They should be moisture-free before frying.
