While millions in India were celebrating the birth of Krishna with devotion and joy this Janmashtami, one video stood out and quietly stole the show. Dressed as Kahna, a young Korean Man baeyunsooo,  in a traditional dhoti, wearing Krishna’s signature peacock feather, jewellery and flute,  felt like he brought the divine back to life. It was something that was totally unexpected, but the video made its way through the heart of every viewer.

Indian fashion designer Aanchal Aware, along with her mother and sister, helped style the entire look. Every little detail, from the accessories to the way he carried himself. Everything was put together with precision yet it served a purpose and a call many understood.  In her words, he embodied Krishna’s playful nature, his innocence, his compassion, his charm. She called him the sunshine of her life, and honestly, anyone who saw the video could feel why and this exactly made it even more touching was the effort behind it.
