Gold and Silver Rate Today: Gold prices in India saw a strong rise at the start of April 2026. On April 1, 23 carat hold jumped by nearly Rs 20,000, while 22-carat and 18 carat gold increased by around Rs 18,000 and Rs 15,000. Silver prices also went up slightly.
The rise in gold and silver prices is mainly due to hopes that tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran may reduce. This could help control crude oil prices and lower the chances of interest rate hikes by central banks.
Gold Price in India
24 carat gold witnessed a rise on April 1 as 10 grams of gold climbed by Rs 1,70 to Rs 1,51,480, while 100 grams of gold rose by Rs 19,700 to Rs 15,14,800.
Meanwhile, the 8-gram gold rate soared by Rs 1,576 to Rs 1,21,184 and 1 gram gold edged higher by Rs 197 to Rs 15,148.
Why Gold and Silver Price Are Rising?
Global markets are recovering strongly because there is hope that tensions in the Middle East may reduce. This has made investors more confident. Oil prices have come down a bit to around $105, but they are still high due to ongoing uncertainty. If the situation worsens or oil supply is affected, prices could rise again and markets may become unstable.
At the same time, silver prices are also looking strong. COMEX silver started the day higher and is trading between $74 and $76. The overall trend is positive, supported by demand for safe investments and steady performance of industrial metals.
