At just 36 years old, Naidu’s appointment marks a significant milestone in his political career.

Naidu’s journey into politics began in 2014 when he contested and won his first election from the Srikakulam constituency, succeeding his father, former Union Minister K Yerran Naidu. Since then, Naidu has secured three consecutive victories, solidifying his position as a formidable leader within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Political Journey and Achievements

Ram Mohan Naidu is not just a Union minister but also the national general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He previously served as the TDP’s floor leader in the Lok Sabha. Naidu, the son of former Union Minister K Yerran Naidu, entered politics after his father’s untimely death in 2012. His father had a significant political legacy, having been a minister for rural development in the United Front Government led by HD Deve Gowda and IK Gujral from 1996 to 1998.

In 2024, Naidu secured his third consecutive victory from the Srikakulam seat, defeating Tilak Perada of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party by a margin of 327,901 votes. His political career began at the age of 26, making him the second youngest MP in the Lok Sabha at the time.
