The most recent cinematic entry into the Demon Slayer franchise, Infinity Castle is breaking presale records and demonstrating the box office invincibility of the franchise. The film has already approached an incredible 10 million pre-sale tickets in the initial markets where it is being released making it one of the biggest ever international openings. These preliminary presale earnings have beaten the prior incumbent, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, and have outstripped other celebrated anime films that were in much anticipation further validating it as a cultural phenomenon.

The film has gained more than 10 billion yen (approx. 67.5 million dollars) in Japan within eight days, making it the quickest in the history of Japanese film to reach the 10 billion milestone. 

Global Impact And Fan Anticipation

The movie has done well especially in the Asian market where it has performed records breaking in markets such as Thailand, Taiwan and Indonesia.  It was the number one opening day animated opening-day in recorded history in Thailand It is set to launch internationally in September, with colossal markets outside Asia such as the U.S. and Europe likely to rake in a huge portion of its overall gross.

The huge demand has resulted in sell-outs in legendary halls and theaters; tickets in venues such as the Le Grand Rex in France sell out within one minute. This degree of fan expectation shows clearly that it is not a typical movie, it is an event to be shared by the fans of the world.
