The two actors who play Rajinikanth and Haasan begin their “great journey” when Rajinikanth throws the car keys to Haasan, which marks the beginning of the long-awaited collaboration between the two most important figures in Tamil cinema.

The project produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Red Giant Movies goes beyond nostalgic elements to present a raw, character-based storyline. The story follows two elderly gangsters who must return to their criminal past to bring closure to their previous violent confrontations.
The project had earlier connections to Lokesh Kanagaraj and Sundar C, but Nelson Dilipkumar’s artistic direction took ultimate control of the project.
Kamal Haasan explained that the reunion between him and his colleague had existed as a pending obligation since a long time ago, while he joked that their combined talent could create enough material to please their extensive worldwide audience by sharing even a small part of their artistic work.
The first promotional video demonstrates its technical capabilities by showcasing a complex “retro-gangster” fashion style, which connects the two distinct time periods of 1970s movie charm and contemporary filmmaking. Anirudh’s background score elevates the entry of the duo, blending traditional mass-appeal elements with contemporary beats.
The production team establishes their target audience through the film’s setting, which explores the process of discovering hidden historical treasures. The reunion functions as a film, but it serves as a strategic tribute that combines two separate acting methods into a unified “special reunion.”
