Viral Miley Cyrus photo exposed as AI fake
A new photo of Miley Cyrus has caused a sensation, triggering spirited debate on why she looks different and a possible new makeover. The picture, in which the singer has incredibly pale skin, hollow cheeks and lacks eyebrows, was often shared with an alleged source that the image is a new Vogue cover or a part of a Gucci campaign. But such declarations are falsified.
The provocative picture, which has triggered so many discussions, is in truth an artificially intelligent art-piece and not a true image of the painter. The unrealism of the picture is further emphasized by the fact that there is no official announcement about the picture anywhere ( neither Vogue nor Gucci), just as the picture can be compared with the actual photographs of Cyrus that were taken recently and which reflect her most typical appearance.
It is not the first time an artificially smart generated image of a famous person caught attention online. This very image’s popularity can be attributed to both its highly theatric and somewhat disturbing style prompting most people to think of it as an artistic statement of daring on the part of the singer.
But a peek deeper into the matter shows the usual signs of artificial intelligence. The inhuman skin color, the absence of authentic texture, and the supernatural, almost uniform proportions of the face all fall in line with computer generated art. The speed at which this fake image was shared highlights the increasing difficulty of telling the real content on celebrity content and believable deepfakes or AI-created content.
Although the viral photo is not real, Miley Cyrus has been notorious for trying to change her image. She has also now been seen in real, professional photoshoots that are drawing attention like a cover of the magazine Perfect where she appeared topless.
Although these are obviously fake photos the fact that many people have speculated about Allison with regard to her health or surgical procedures brings into question how much pressure celebrities have when associated with a specific image and how digital manipulation can be done with ease to spread false information. It is also a lesson to never base a conclusion on information and pictures provided by some official sources.
