‘Kannada Abuse’ Sparks Violent Brawl, 8 Men Brutally Assault Two Outside Bar
The Atithi Bar in Dombivli West became the site of an extremely violent incident that witnesses said began after someone used a linguistic slur. The first argument between two people started at 12:30 am, and their dispute developed into a street fight when one person accused another person of using offensive Kannada words.
The violent event reached its maximum point, which resulted in a street fight that ended with two young men receiving severe injuries and needing hospitalization.
The complete episode, which involved people using makeshift weapons that included iron rods and heavy flower pots, was recorded by CCTV cameras, which showed the complete illegal activities that occurred on Reti Bandar Road.
The brawl’s visual recording functions as the main stateful evidence that investigators currently examine. The digital footage shows that the main instigator brought seven to eight friends to the location in order to resolve the situation, which he considered a dispute.
The video shows the victims being lured or forced to the bar’s entrance under the guise of a conversation before the physical assault commenced with a sudden slap. The footage, together with police reports, shows physical violence, while the police reports document that one participant lost an 8-gram gold chain during the chaotic fight.
The digital evidence now serves as the main evidence, which will help identify the various attackers who participated in the incident.
The Dombivli West police station established a formal case to investigate the violent battery incident after the video of the event became viral. The police officers are investigating the events that took place to identify the group of eight attackers who escaped from the location.
The investigation shows that local conflicts between communities have developed into organized fighting because of social and linguistic discrimination.
Police authorities have expanded their search efforts to locate the suspects while the victims receive medical treatment for their critical injuries by using CCTV still photos to identify the offenders, who will face charges according to specific sections of the penal code.
