Stock Market LIVE Updates: Nifty 50 and Other Index Lot Sizes Reduced by NSE from October 28
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced changes to the lot sizes for futures and options contracts on four major indices, effective from October 28. Lot size means the minimum number of shares that traders must buy or sell in one contract.
For the popular Nifty 50 index, the lot size will be reduced from 75 shares to 65 shares. Similarly, the Nifty Bank index lot size will go down from 35 to 30 shares. The Nifty Financial Services lot size will decrease from 65 to 60 shares, and the Nifty Mid Select index lot size will drop from 140 to 120 shares.
These changes are designed to make trading more accessible and affordable for investors by lowering the minimum quantity required to trade futures and options contracts. The revised lot sizes will start from October 28, and traders should prepare for these updates to manage their positions accordingly.
