Users across the globe are reporting widespread connectivity problems on several apps after Cloudflare, a key internet infrastructure provider, acknowledged that it is dealing with “internal service degradation” on December 5, 2025.
Even Downdetector, the platform that tracks outages, has gone down, further indicating the scale of the disruption within Cloudflare’s network.
Users across the world reported wide connectivity problems on December 5, 2025, after Cloudflare confirmed that its network was experiencing “internal service degradation.”
The issue affected multiple applications at the same time and caused major slowdowns and failures in several regions.
Service tracker Downdetector also went offline during the same period, which indicated the scale of the disruption. The outage affected social, financial, entertainment and productivity platforms, and users struggled to access essential online services for several hours as Cloudflare engineers worked to restore normal operations.
The outage hit several well-known platforms and caused login errors, failed page loads and broken features. X, LinkedIn and Discord failed to load timelines or connect to servers. Canva and Notion went offline for many users, interrupting work and collaboration tasks, while AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity failed to generate responses. Spotify and Letterboxd also showed access errors.
Coinbase, Groww, and various SpaceX-linked services were reported offline. Shopify stores faced unstable backend access, affecting online sellers and buyers. Users across continents confirmed the widespread nature of this disruption.
Core internet services gradually returned as Cloudflare restored its systems. Platforms like Canva, LinkedIn, Quillbot and Groww came back online, and users regained access to essential tools and services. Downdetector also resumed operations, allowing real-time tracking of app outages once again.
However, the restoration process remained uneven. Entertainment platforms continued to report issues, with Crunchyroll and Fortnite still inaccessible for many users.
Reports from various regions confirmed that gaming and streaming services were recovering at a slower pace than productivity and communication platforms.
