PM Awas Yojana Scam: In a shocking incident from Prayagraj, more than 9,000 people cheated the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) by taking money even though they already had houses! PMAY is a government plan to help people who don’t have a home, but these fake claimers wrongly got around ₹1.20 lakh each. This means the money meant for poor and needy people was taken by those who didn’t deserve it. The officials found out about this during an investigation and are now working hard to get back the stolen money. This case shows that the government needs to check things more carefully so the right people get help. It’s important to stop such fraud so that honest people can get their homes.

Over 9,000 People Cheated PM Awas Yojana in Prayagraj

Did you know more than 9,000 people cheated in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana? According to report, This scheme gives ₹1.20 lakh in three parts to poor families to build houses. But after the first payment, a survey found many who got the money already had houses! Some even had big, two-storey homes. These people tricked the system by sending fake papers to get the money. This is unfair because the money was meant for those who really need a home. Now, officials are trying to take back the money and stop such cheating in the future.

Over 3,000 PM Awas Yojana Beneficiaries Didn’t Build Houses

According to reports, In Shankargarh block, a shocking thing happened! After getting the first installment of money from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), 3,127 people didn’t even lay a single brick to build their houses. Can you believe that? When the officials talked to the local people and checked carefully, they found out that these people didn’t need new houses at all. So, they took the money unfairly!

Now, the administration is planning to take strict action against these people. Chief Development Officer Harshika Singh started the investigation and has told the officials to begin legal steps to get the money back. It’s not just the people who took the money who are in trouble, even the officers who approved these fake applications are being checked.

This shows how important it is to be honest and how the government is working hard to stop cheating so that the money reaches the right people.
