Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan has allegedly injured himself while shooting his new action film King, causing production to grind to a temporary halt. The actor, filming a high-octane action scene at the Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai, reportedly hurt his muscles.

As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, the injury happened while doing a physically strenuous scene. While the nature of the injury hasn’t been revealed, insiders from the production team disclosed that Shah Rukh has been told to take an extended break of one month from work. “It’s not that serious but more of a muscular strain. SRK has suffered several injuries in the past doing action stunts,” a source stated.

After the accident, Shah Rukh and his crew allegedly flew to the United States in order to receive emergency medical care. The decision, according to sources, is precautionary rather than critical, as a measure to protectively rest and heal.

As a result of the actor’s injury, all shoot bookings for King previously scheduled between July and August have been cancelled. Locations included Mumbai’s Film City, YRF Studios, and Golden Tobacco Studio. The next shooting schedule is now expected to begin in September or October, depending on the actor’s health and recovery timeline.

The King team has not made any official statement on the incident or the revised dates.

King is Shah Rukh Khan’s most awaited film and his debut screen association with his daughter, Suhana Khan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, who has also collaborated with SRK in Pathaan, the movie will have Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Jackie Shroff, and Arshad Warsi.

The movie is being termed one of the largest action thrillers in production and was already making huge waves with the father-daughter pair making their first appearance on screen together.

While the fans were showing concern for the health of the actor on social media, many also appreciated his passion to perform stunts himself, even at this age. Shah Rukh Khan, also known as the “King of Bollywood,” has already faced a number of injuries in the past, particularly from fast-paced movies such as Ra.One, Pathaan, and Chennai Express.

Even as the filming setback might delay the project schedule, fans are optimistic that SRK will recover more strongly. For the meantime, the main concern is still the actor’s health and recovery.

Shah Rukh Khan was seen recently in the blockbuster film Dunki and remains one of the most bankable stars in the industry. His next step, both on-screen and off, is under close observation by fans and the film fraternity as well.
