This occasion commemorates the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the leader of Sikhism, and is celebrated with utmost reverence all over India. The event involves religious processions (nagar kirtans), singing of holy scriptures (kirtans), and sharing of meals (langar) at gurdwaras.
