A 37-year-old man in Bengaluru has approached the police with serious allegations against his wife and her family, accusing them of harassment, sexual misconduct, cheating, and forcing him out of his home. The complaint has now led to a police investigation, with officials working to verify the claims from both sides.

Dispute Turns Bitter After Marriage

According to the FIR, the man, a resident of Nagarbhavi, married 31-year-old Shilpa at a private ceremony in Bengaluru. The couple later moved into a villa in Jakkuru. He alleged that tensions began soon after, largely due to frequent interference by his in-laws.

In his complaint, he claimed that his mother-in-law, Asha, restricted his access to the house and repeatedly pressured him to leave her daughter, suggesting she deserved a better match. He also accused his father-in-law, Madhav Krishna, of sending individuals to intimidate him.

Allegations Of Mental And Sexual Harassment

The man further alleged that his wife subjected him to emotional distress by mocking his financial condition and expressing dissatisfaction with his lifestyle. He claimed she preferred spending time with her wealthy social circle, often attending parties and social gatherings.

He also accused her of sexual harassment and mental cruelty. According to his statement, she allegedly sent him explicit content and pressured him to imitate such acts. He further claimed she forced him into uncomfortable situations involving one of her friends and insisted on discussing their private life with others. The complaint also includes allegations of extramarital affairs.

Eviction, Missing Belongings, And Legal Action

The dispute escalated despite a family mediation held on July 4, 2024. The man alleged that on September 24, 2024, he was forced to leave the house, while his wife was taken to Chennai by her mother. He said he was allowed to take only limited belongings, including his uniform and a laptop.

He has claimed that cash worth Rs 1.87 lakh, gold and silver jewellery, important documents like his passport and educational certificates, and other household items are still in the villa and have not been returned. He also alleged that wedding photos and videos stored on his laptop were deleted.

The complainant has now sought police help to recover his belongings and initiate action against those named in the complaint.
