Giant Fair Ride Collapses At Sasaram Disneyland Mela In Bihar, Several Visitors Injured

A big accident at this Disneyland themed fair in Bihar’s Sasaram, kind of triggered panic and chaos, after a giant amusement ride sort of collapsed suddenly while it was running on Friday evening. It happened near Pilot Baba Ashram in the Mufassil police station area, where a large crowd had gathered for the fair, there were people everywhere. From what reports say, the ride was operating at high speed and then it reportedly became unstable, and broke off its axis, throwing several riders including women and children onto the ground. The whole thing was terrifying, fairgoers were screaming, because people ran around to rescue those trapped and hurt, like everyone forgot their own fear for a moment.

What Happened Here?

Eyewitnesses said the ride had been spinning fast, right before the incident it basically kept going like that. When the structure lost its balance, it collapsed, and then chaos spread across the fairground in some areas it turned into a kind of stampede like situation. Footage from the spot went viral pretty quickly on social media, showing injured visitors lying near the damaged ride, while locals and organisers tried to do rescue work. In the end, several people were injured, and the worst affected included children and women too. Authorities moved the injured right away to Sasaram Sadar Hospital and also to other nearby medical places for treatment.

Where Are The Injured People Now?

Doctors treating those who got hurt did say, that quite a few victims ended up with bruises and other injuries on their hands, legs and even their heads. Dr Manish Kumar from Sadar Hospital mentioned that the women and children who were injured are now receiving care , and they’re still being kept under medical observation. Officials however, have not confirmed the exact number of people who were hurt yet, but the early preliminary reports are suggesting that several visitors were affected when the structure collapsed. Thankfully, no fatalities were reported in the whole incident.

What Caused The Collapse?

After the accident, police personnel and district administration officials reached the site quickly, and started an investigation to figure out why the collapse happened. At this point, the initial findings seem to be leaning toward a technical malfunction, or possibly negligence connected to safety measures. This incident, again has brought serious worries back to the surface about the safety standards followed at temporary fairs and amusement parks, especially when there are massive crowds during public events. Authorities are also being reported to have started checking other rides at the fair, just to make sure nothing else goes wrong.
