Pinterest is experiencing a major outage in the United States, with more than 4,000 users reporting issues on Tuesday afternoon. According to outage- tracking platform DownDetector, users are encountering error messages, including “user experienced data retrieval failure,” preventing them from accessing their accounts and feeds.
The spike in reports suggests a widespread disruption, with many users saying the app is not working, while others are facing problems with their feed, timeline, and login. The exact cause of the outage remains unclear.
When Pinterest displays a “user experience data retrieval failure” message, it typically indicates that the platform is unable to retrieve account or feed information from its servers. Such errors are often caused by backend disruptions or temporary connectivity issues.
Data from DownDetector shows that 58% of users reported the app was not functioning, while 19% experienced problems with their feed or timeline. Another 13% said they were unable to log into their accounts.
One user wrote, “i literally can’t scroll Pinterest without accidentally clicking an ad EVERY scroll.”
Second user commented, “Is anyone else’s Pinterest down? I cannot access any of my boards.”
Third user wrote, “PINTEREST IS DOWN AND I’M HAVING A MENTAL BREAKDOWN.”
