Kannada and Tamil television actress Nandini CM was found dead at her residence in RR Nagar, Bengaluru, in an apparent case of suicide, police said. Her death has sent shockwaves across the regional television industry, with colleagues and fans expressing grief over her untimely passing.
Police officials said that the exact circumstances leading to her death are still under investigation, and no official details regarding the cause have been disclosed so far. Further information is awaited.
Originally from Kottur, Nandini CM had steadily built a career in both Kannada and Tamil television. She was known for her performances in popular Kannada serials such as Jeeva Hoovagide, Sangharsha, Madhumagalu, and Neenade Naa, where she appeared in supporting but impactful roles.
At the time of her death, Nandini was playing the lead role in the Tamil television serial Gowri, in which she portrayed a dual character Kanaka and Durga. Her performance in the serial had earned her recognition and appreciation from viewers, marking a significant phase in her career.
In a tragic coincidence, reports have noted that one of Nandini’s recent scenes in Gowri involved her character consuming poison. While this detail has drawn attention on social media following her death, officials have not established any link between her on-screen role and the incident.
Several artistes from the Tamil television industry are expected to travel to Bengaluru to pay their last respects. Her sudden demise has left colleagues across both industries in shock, with many remembering her as a dedicated performer who was committed to her craft.
Police said investigations are ongoing, and more details will be shared once available.
