Woman Kills Sons, Dies By Suicide Amid Marital Conflict
The Kukatpally area of Hyderabad experienced a devastating event when 29-year-old Sravanthi and her two young sons Karthik and Koushik were discovered dead at their home on Tuesday.
The woman’s husband Boda Praveen made the grim discovery after he returned from work to find his home locked from the inside. He needed to break down the door with help from neighbors because he found his family members unresponsive.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that Sravanthi killed her children before taking her own life because of deep marital problems and her husband’s second marriage announcement.
The marriage between Sravanthi and Praveen experienced deterioration because their relationship suffered from marital problems that emerged after Praveen supposedly married another woman.
The couple faced constant domestic violence, which started after Sravanthi discovered her husband’s infidelity through his broken trust. Family elders attempted to resolve the crisis, but their efforts failed when they brought her back to Hyderabad one day before the fatal incident occurred.
Authorities are now investigating the timeline of these conflicts to determine the mental distress that Sravanthi suffered during her final hours.
The investigation began legal work after the team collected body remains and completed their first forensic investigation. Under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Kukatpally police are moving to register a case of abetment to suicide against Praveen.
The investigation continues to focus on the home environment because the post-mortem reports, which will identify the two children’s death causes, are still pending.
Police officials have emphasized that the pressure of the husband’s alleged second marriage is a primary factor being scrutinized in this tragic triple fatality.
