Noida Traffic News: Protests by industrial workers demanding higher wages became more intense on Monday, causing major traffic problems in different parts of the city. The situation was worse near Chilla Border, Sector 84, and Sector 62, where workers blocked the road during busy morning hours. This led to long traffic jams in Noida on the first working day of the week. Traffic movement in Noida is severely affected due to protests over salary hike issues. Communters who want to enter Noida from the Akshardham side are facing difficulties as the entry is blocked due to the agitation. The situation is even worse for people travelling from Delhi to Noida.
Protests took place in several areas, especially in Sector 62, as the Noida protest initially began from there and quickly spread to multiple industrial and high-traffic zones which affect vehicular movement.
The situation became more serious in Phase 2, where tensions increased and incidents like stone pelting, vehicles being set on fire, and damage to property were reported. A large number of police personnel were deployed to control and bring the situation under control.
Heavy traffic congestion was reported on the Delhi-Noida DND Flyway after the Chilla Border, a key link between Delhi and Noida, was closed following a violent protest in Noida’s Phase 2. Heavy police deployment was made near the company in Noida, where a protest by its employees, over salary increment demands, turned violent.
Vehicles and properties were damaged, and stone pelting also occurred during the protest. The closure of the route led to major traffic disruptions, with long queues of vehicles building up on the DND stretch.
Delhi traffic police issued traffic advisory after violence erupts at DND flyway, stating, “Traffic at Noida severely affected due to ongoing agitation by the workers from private factories. They have completely blocked Noida Link Road coming from Chilla Border (Delhi). Traffic movement towards Noida from the Chilla Border is severely affected.
Public is hereby advised to plan their journey accordingly and use DND for travelling to Noida. Traffic intending to go to Noida may use DND from Sarai Kale Khan or alternatively use NH 24 – Kondli Bridge and enter Noida through Noida Mod.”
Authorities confirmed that the demonstrations are part of a larger agitation by workers over salary-related demands, which appears to be gianing momentum. Officials are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further escalation and esnsure public convenience. The administration also appealed to workers and the public to maintain peace.
