With the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium set to host their first game of IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad received massive cheers from the spectators. Ian Bishop, who facilitated the toss, was left in splits as he was forced to wait for some time before speaking as Gaikwad couldn’t hear his question the first time.

Chennai Super Kings hope to get back to winning ways in their fortress

With the Chepauk historically being the five-time champions’ fortress, they will look up to return to winning ways at this venue. The Yellow Army started their campaign with an insipid batting performance that saw them fold for 127 against the Rajasthan Royals at the Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The Royals razed it down with eight wickets to spare. It will also be the first game for Sanju Samson at the venue since getting traded to the Super Kings and will be looking to entertain the crowd.

With Bishop asking Gaikwad about the toss decision, the latter signalled that he can’t hear him. The former West Indian speedster smiled helplessly, waiting for the noise to go down.
