The 70 million pounds signing from Eintracht Frankfurt immediately endeared himself to The Kop, scoring and linking play brilliantly on a night full of high drama, tributes, and troubling subplots.

Ekitike’s performance may now force the club to reconsider whether they need to spend so heavily on another forward at all.
