LG has announced a new update for all the Xbox lovers in India. The company has announced a new update after which selected models of LG TV will give user Xbox cloud gaming support. This update will allow users to play games directly without setting up a physical Xbox console. The feature comes through a newly introduced Gaming Portal on webOS. The webOS will now include the Xbox app as an integrated part of its cloud gaming option.
LG’s update will entirely change the gaming experience. The TV will handle all the navigation and inputs while all game performance tasks run in the cloud. This update will allow users to launch games through the gaming portals in the same way users open or operate any other app on smart TV.
The users can browse a wide collection of cloud bases games in the portal. The library varies depending on the gaming service the users have logged in. It includes the paid subscription-based games to free to play games.
For Xbox cloud gaming, the users must have an active Xbox Game Pass subscription apart from subscription, a compatible controller and a strong and stable internet connection is a must. Once a user has signed in, they can start streaming games without having a physical discs or console hardware.
To play Xbox games on LG smart TV users need to have three essential things
Users must have an LG smart TV which support WebOS version
An Xbox Game Pass subscription is mandatory
A compatible wireless controller to play games
After opening the Xbox app, players need to simply login and launch games the same way they use to do on Xbox console. The only difference between playing game on LG TV and Xbox console is you need internet connection to play Xbox games on LG smart TV
LG is going to release this update on the smart TV released from 2021 to 2025. The update will be available in phases which will reach users via regular software updates. Availability of update may vary by model because factors such as refresh rate and response time affect how well cloud gaming perform on different LG screen.
