President Donald Trump said on Friday that he plans to introduce a fresh 10% global tariff under Section 122, days after the Supreme Court invalidated his earlier broad-based tariff measures.

Addressing reporters at a press conference, Trump stated that he would sign an executive order to “impose a 10% global tariff under Section 122.”

He clarified that the new levy would come “in addition to the standard tariffs already in place.”

Trump also announced the launch of multiple trade investigations under Section 301 and other provisions, saying the move is aimed at shielding the United States from what he described as unfair trade practices by foreign governments and companies.

Trump’s Fiery Tariff Attack on Liberal Justices

In his remarks, Trump sharply criticised the Supreme Court’s liberal justices, as well as those who sided with the majority in ruling that his use of IEEPA was unlawful.

““The Democrats on the court are thrilled,” Trump said. “They’re against anything that makes America strong, healthy and great again. They also are a frankly, disgrace to our nation, those justices.”

“The Democrats on the court are thrilled,” he said, accusing them of opposing measures that he claims strengthen the country. He described the justices as “a disgrace to our nation.”

Trump also took aim at “certain” members of the bench- an apparent reference to conservative justices he himself appointed, including Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, who joined the majority opinion.

Calling them “unpatriotic” and “disloyal to the Constitution,” Trump further alleged, without providing evidence, that the court had been influenced by foreign interests and a political movement he characterised as much smaller than perceived.

Trump Slams ‘Deeply Disappointing’ Supreme Court Ruling

Donald Trump criticized the Supreme Court’s verdict, describing it as “deeply disappointing.”

He said he is “ashamed of certain members of the court, absolutely ashamed for not having the courage to do what’s right for our country.”

Trump praised justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh who dissented.

“I’d like to thank and congratulate Justices Thomas, Alito and Kavanaugh for their strength and wisdom and love of our country, which is, right now, very proud of those justices,” he said.

Trump particularly praised Kavanaugh, saying, “I would like to thank justice Kavanaugh for his, frankly, his genius and his great ability. Very proud of that appointment in actuality.”
