The heat index of high-stakes Mainpuri elections will rise even higher as UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath begins his campaign with his first public engagement in Mainpuri on November 28.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already mobilised an army of MLAs and ministers to confront the Samajwadi Party in its traditional stronghold. CM Yogi will speak at a public assembly at Narsingh Yadav Inter College in Karhal. Yogi Adityanath is anticipated to continue trying to influence the thoughts of Mainpuri residents till 3 December.

The entrance of Yogi would add to the pressure on Akhilesh Yadav, who is facing political pressure in the Mainpuri by-election.

CM Yogi Adityanath is holding his first public gathering in Akhilesh Yadav’s seat. In such a case, the SP President will have to place a greater emphasis on Karhal, which is seen as an SP stronghold.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya held two meetings at Mainpuri.
