KKR vs SRH, IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders are facing off against Sunrisers Hyderabad in match number six of the Indian Premier League as Ajinkya Rahane elected to bowl first at the iconic Eden Gardens on Thursday. As the team got announced for this fixture, the inclusion of Cameron Green as a pure batter became a topic of discussion for fans and experts alike. The roots of the conversation begin when KKR, in their first match, when Australian all-rounder Cameron Green did not feature in the bowling line-up.

During the post-match press conference, Rahane remarked that he didn’t employ the Aussie as a bowler since Cricket Australia had prohibited him from bowling.

Following Rahane’s remarks that sparked significant controversy, Green was spotted bowling in KKR nets on Wednesday (April 1), increasing the chances of him delivering a few overs in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.

During the toss, when Rahane was questioned about Green’s status as a bowler for the crucial match between KKR and SRH in front of home supporters, he responded that the 26-year-old Australian is completing all necessary preparations and will begin bowling shortly.

“He (Cam Green) is doing all the things which he needs to do. Physio and our trainer are looking after him. You will see him bowling very soon,” Rahane said.

Green had featured in 30 IPL games for three franchises since his 2023 IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians. He delivered at least one over in every one of his first 29 games, but didn’t bowl on his KKR debut.
