Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his incredible form with the bat as the U19 skipper of the Indian team notched up a century. The aggressive left-handed batter completed his milestone in just 63 balls while opening the innings for India against South Africa. He had completed his half-century in 24 balls.
Suryavanshi and his opening partner Aaron George provided a brisk start to India after being put into bat. George also notched up his fifty. India have already sealed after winning the first two matches of the three-match series.
Vaibhav had earlier scored 11 and 68 in the first two matches on the tour. He has been in an incredible form and struck 190 for Bihar in Vijay Hazare Trophy. The youngster was rewarded for his performances.
On December 26, he was awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, which is one of the highest civilian awards for youngsters in the country. The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Purashkar is awarded to the children between the age of 5 to 18 for excellence and exceptional achievements in different facets of life such as Bravery, Art & Culture, Environment, Innovation, Science & Technology, Social Service, and Sports. The award is a recognition to the outstanding achievements of these young children in their respective fields.
