Google Top Searches: From AI To Maha Kumbh, Here Is What India Searched In 2025

India’s Top google search have always been interesting to watch. This year in 2025, the top Google searches have been mixed with cricket fever, AI obsession, films, and religious gatherings.  

Google’s annual “Year in Search” shows Indian searching between culture and tech, spirituality and sci-fi and heartbreak sometimes.

As per the data released by Google on Thursday 4th December, Indian Premier League (IPL) holds the first position as most searched term in India.  

The surprising term that was most searched after IPL was artificial intelligence in search behavior whereas in 2024 there were no AI related queries in the top 10. Google Gemini emerged as second most searched term in 2025 whereas Elon Musk’s Grok secured the 8th position in the list.  

Apart from major sporting events like the ICC Champions Trophy, Asia Cup, Pro Kabaddi League, and Women’s World Cup also featured among the top 10 searches.

This year 2025 was diverse where users have shown their interest from web 3 AI chatbot to Maha Kumbh connecting spiritual roots. The cricket fever has been constant throughout the year since RCB’s much awaited IPL victory to  

Asia Cup and Women’s World Cup. The Saiyaara film is also featured in the top 10 most searched term list. The film was an absolute hit and was discussed all over the internet.  

Last but not the least, late veteran actor Dharmendra became part of this list. Experts believes that the fake death news of Dharmendra make so much chaos in the nation and later his death also made a lot of headlines and make the Dharmendra rank in the list
