Bandar Apna Dost cross 2.07 billion views
In a recent study by video editing platform Kapwing shows that an India based YouTube channel has the greatest number of views worldwide. The report analyse the top 100 hundred trending channels in countries worldwide, identifying hundreds that rely exclusively on AI generated videos.
The number one YouTube channel in the list is from India; the name of the channel is “Bandar Apna Dost”. The channel features repetitive AI-animated stories of a realistic monkey in dramatic, humorous, or emotional human-like scenes. These are often with minor variations across hundreds of videos.
At the end of 2025, Bandar Apna Dost has crossed 2.07 billion views and an estimated annual revenue of $4.25 million from Google Ads.
The viewership of the channel shows that the Indian audience are loving such content. This trend also creates a broader debate on AI videos on YouTube, the human generated content has voice frustrations, arguing that the surge of AI spam and low effort videos are ruining good quality content.
The Kapwing’s report highlights the growing prevalence of ‘AI slop’ which is low effort, AI generated content are designed mainly to rack up views on YouTube, especially in shorts feed and trending section of the platform.
The research analysed that the first 500 recommended Shorts on YouTube results showed that 21% which is 104 videos were identified as AI-generated, whereas 33% which means 165 videos can be classified as “brainrot” which is another broader category with addictive low-quality content that often includes AI slop.
In slop content on YouTube, Spain leads in combined subscriber numbers with a total of 20.22 million across just eight channels. In terms of total views, South Korea claims to be on top position. Its 11 trending slop channels have generated a combined 8.45 billion views.
