ChatGPT’s parent company OpenAI has introduced Prism, a cloud-based workspace that offers collaboration of scientific writing and advanced reasoning powered by GPT-5.2. The Prism is engineered to take care of fragmented workflows which consist of drafting papers, managing citations, and coordinating with collaborators.
The company stated that “We’re introducing Prism, a free, AI-native workspace for scientists to write and collaborate on research powered by GPT-5.2. Prism offers unlimited projects and collaborators and is available today to anyone with a ChatGPT personal account. Prism will be available soon to organizations using ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Education plans”

Prism also chats with GPT-5.2 and explore ideas, test hypotheses, and also reason through complex problems
The tool can also search and incorporate literature directly into manuscripts
The tool help in equation and diagram can convert whiteboard sketches into LaTeX
Prism also offer real-time collaboration with unlimited co-authors, students and advisors
The new feature comes with voice-based editing functionality
The new feature is free to use, and anyone with ChatGPT account can start wiring the papers immediately. The company has no subscription fee or seat limits. By making high-quality scientific tools friendlier and easier to adopt broadly available, the experts hope to enable more researchers across institutions, disciplines, and career stages to participate fully in the scientific research process.
