
Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra Launched In India
Chinese smartphone manufacturing giant Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship in India, Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The smartphone is developed for photography enthusiasts. Both the smartphones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and packed with up to 6300mAh battery. The flagship is developed in collaboration with Leica to push the boundaries of mobile photography and processing power.
The newly launched Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3-inch CrystalRes OLED display with a 2,656×1,220 resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 3500 nits. The display panel also supports a 300Hz touch sampling rate and offers DCI-P3 colour coverage, 12-bit colour depth, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision support, and TUV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker free operation, and circadian friendly viewing.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC paired with Andreno GPU and Qualcomm AI Engine. The chipset is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. The device runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and consists of the company’s new HyperAI suite which has tools such as AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Interpreter, AI Search, AI Dynamic Wallpapers, and Circle to Search with Google Gemini.
In terms of optics, the device features a Leica-tuned triple camera setup with Summilux lenses on the rear panel. It consists of a 50MP primary camera with a 1/1.31-inch light fusion 950 sensor and OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 102-degree field of view whereas the front panel features a 50MP camera for selfie and video calling.
The device is packed with a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyerCharge. The phone has an IP68 certification for resistance against dust and water.
In terms of display, the Ultra and base variant have the same size and features. The major upgradations and difference between Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are as follows

The Xiaomi 17 comes at a starting price of Rs 89,999 while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra costs Rs 1,29,999. The early buyers will also receive the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit Pro worth Rs 19,999, from 13th March to 17th March.
