13 civilians were also wounded in the attacks
Local media reports said that an assault by unknown men on a judiciary center in Iran’s southeastern region has resulted in the killing of 8 people.
Five civilians were killed, and the three attackers were also shot dead by security forces, media reports added.
Thirteen civilians were reportedly also injured during the attacks.
“Unknown gunmen attacked the judiciary center in Zahedan,” Iranian officials were quoted as saying.
Reportedly, the attackers came to the building and pretended to be visitors.
Jaish al-Adl, a terrorist group active in the region between the Pakistan and Iran border, has claimed responsibility for the attack, media reports said.
The attackers hurled grenades inside the building, which killed a one-year-old child and mother, reports said.
Media reports say Jaish al-Adl was formed in Pakistan in 2014, and Iran believes the group spreads terrorism in the country.
Just like Pakistan and Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran too share a porous border, and Tehran accuses Islamabad of giving a safe space to the terrorists.
In relation to this, Iran struck at what it called the terrorist sites of the group in the Balochistan state of Pakistan earlier this year.
Reports note that the group Jaish al-Adl says it is fighting to protect the rights of Sunni Baloch civilians in the Sistan-Baluchistan province of Iran.
Experts believe it is a group with anti-Shia ideology, the official Islamic sect of Iran.
Abdolrahim Mullahzadeh is believed to be the leader of the terrorist group, and they target the forces of Iran with explosions.
Deadly altercations regularly occur between Iranian forces and operatives of the terrorist group in the restive region.
The operatives are sometimes supported by other militants and drug traffickers working in the area, reports claim.
Last year in October, 10 Iranian police officials were killed after a deadly ambush by the Pakistan-based group.
