In a new development in the JPMorgan sexual abuse case, senior executive Lorna Hajdini has claimed that she is receiving being harassed by receiving rape threats and graphic sexual messages after the former employee at the company, Chirayu Rana, filed a lawsuit against the 37-year old executive director in the Leveraged Finance division. The ex-banker had earlier accused Lorna of sexual harassment while working under her. According to a Reuters report citing the new court documents filed on May 19 by Hajdini, in which she claims that her former colleague Rana fabricated allegations of rape and forced drugging. She alleges that the charges were made to get maximum media coverage, inflict her pain and extract money from JPMorgan. Hajdini has alleged that his life has become a “living nightmare” after the allegations became public. Her lawyers have shared the disturbing emails she has allegedly received as evidence of the harassment she is receiving online. She has alleged that after the case went public, she was targeted with viral sexual memes, AI generated obscene content that targeted her family also.
The countersuit says, unfortunately, it has succeeded despite its falsity.”
“Hajdini has been mocked, ridiculed, and harassed around the clock, becoming the focus of jokes and memes of a “vile, degrading, and sexual nature, all a direct consequence of the plaintiff’s lies. Plaintiff’s false, malicious, and bad faith statements have wreaked havoc on Ms. Hajdini’s life,” the countersuit added.
Citing the evidence, one email shows the sender telling Hajdini that they hoped she would be ‘gang raped. The sender urges her to commit selfharm and wishes death on her family. Other emails from unknown people reveal the sexual threats the executive has been receiving. An anonymous user has volunteered to become her ‘slave’ in one email cited by Reuters. Another email mocks Hajdini’s accuser Chirayu and offers sexual favours.
Hajdini, in her countersuit, has called the allegations fabricated to inflict maximum pain and destroy her career.
In April, Chirayu Rana filed a lawsuit under a pseudonym ‘John Doe’, accusing Hajdini of coercing him for sexual acts, targeting him with racial slurs, and threatening to destroy his career if he refused to lend sexual favours. JPMorgan has, however, stood with the senior executive Hajdini, saying that no evidence of misconduct was found in an internal investigation.
