A high alert has been issued for the Uttar Pradesh temple towns of Ayodhya and Mathura in anticipation of the Babri Masjid demolition’s 30th anniversary on December 6. Police have described the security preparations for December 6 in Ayodhya as “routine.” There are no noteworthy events planned by either the Muslim or Hindu sides today.
Drones are used for monitoring while there is intense security. Police have been stationed throughout the area.
The administration has not given anyone the go-ahead to have any sort of event in the region on this particular day. Additionally, persons and vehicles arriving from the outside are being inspected.
Senior Superintendent of Police for Mathura Gaurav Grover is said to have instructed his officers to monitor any development pertaining to the city’s security.
The Babri mosque was demolished thirty years ago, but people in the pilgrimage city of Ayodhya seem to have moved on and are celebrating its anniversary on Tuesday much like any other day.
Police have characterised the security preparations for December 6 in Ayodhya, the date on which “kar sevaks” destroyed the mosque built in the sixteenth century, as “routine.”
Visitors to the red zone, which is located 300 metres from both sites, are under observation. All organisations have been given strict directives.
In order to perform Laddu Gopal Jalabhishek and recite the Hanuman Chalisa in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Idgah complex in Mathura today, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha has requested permission.
The Mathura government has therefore put section 144 into effect throughout the district. This prohibits gatherings of more than five persons for picketing, meetings, or other types of protests.
Unlike in the past, the Muslim community has no plans to observe a “Black Day” on Tuesday, nor is the Vishwa Hindu Parishad marking “Shaurya Diwas” (Bravery Day).
According to the VHP, it does not wish to take any action that “undermines trust and community peace.”
After the Supreme Court’s ruling, which granted the Hindu side the Ram Janmabhoomi complex for the construction of the Ram temple, the Ayodhya conflict was settled.
The Sunni Central Waqf Board has received five acres of land in the Ayodhya area specifically for the construction of the mosque. On behalf of the Ram Mandir Trust, work is being done at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.
