The Tis Hazari Court in Delhi has acknowledged the charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a case involving a drug haul of MDMA from Belgium. Earlier, the CBI had seized 3.6 kilograms of drugs based on an Interpol reference, leading to the arrest of an individual in July 2023 in the Prayagraj District of Uttar Pradesh.

Special Judge (NDPS) Ekta Gauba Mann scheduled the matter for arguments on framing charges against the accused, Mohit Jaiswal. The hearing is set for March 11. The accused has been in custody since July 13, 2023, and has been provided a copy of the charge sheet.

According to the CBI, two parcels containing MDMA were seized from the Foreign Post Office on Kotla Road in New Delhi. Subsequently, a case was registered against Anil Kumar Yadav and others under the NDPS Act, 1985.

The CBI received an Interpol reference indicating suspected drug parcels being sent to India, with details of the receivers. To intercept the drugs, dummy parcels were prepared and sent to the destination addresses.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the accused, Mohit Jaiswal, attempted to take delivery of the parcels at the Post office in Baraut, Prayagraj, but fled upon sensing the presence of the CBI team. He was arrested on July 13, 2023, and found connected to both parcels containing MDMA.

Another suspect, Anil Kumar, allegedly made a call to the Postman to receive the delivery and is currently absconding. The CBI asserted that these findings establish the involvement of Mohit Jaiswal in the drug delivery from Belgium to the Post Office in Baraut.
