Before MCD Elections, State EC creates list of critical booths

The State EC in Delhi further declared that many layers of security were being put in place at the voting places. Additionally, it is taking into consideration installing webcasting capabilities at the majority of the crucial booths.

In a statement, it added that, “if necessary, the commission shall also deploy drones for aerial monitoring of the regions near these hypercritical Booths.”

According to the MAH, the Delhi Police would deploy 78 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces over the course of two phases.

For Area Domination, Inter-State NAKAS, and Quick Reaction Teams, the first phase of CAPF deployment has already deployed 43 coys (QRT). Three days prior to the date of voting, the remaining 35 coys of CAPFS must be deployed in the second phase at crucial locations and Counting Centers.

On election day, the commission added, 45,000 police officers and 4,000 Delhi Home Guards will also be on duty.

The crucial elections for Delhi’s 250-ward Municipal Corporation are scheduled for December 4, and the results will be tallied on December 7.
