Now in its second week, Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to keep audiences hooked, with plenty of surprises still up its sleeve. On its 13th day in theatres, the film witnessed a noticeable jump in domestic collections on Tuesday. Its steady performance overseas has also propelled it past the ₹1400 crore mark worldwide—making it the first Bollywood film to achieve this feat without a China release.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller had already crossed ₹1000 crore globally within its first week. It shattered box-office records right from its opening weekend, earning over ₹100 crore net in just three days. The momentum has remained strong into the second week, with the film collecting a record-breaking ₹170 crore net domestically during its second weekend—the highest ever in Indian cinema. On Tuesday, it added ₹27 crore net, marking nearly a 10% rise from Monday’s figures. This takes the Ranveer Singh-starrer to ₹899 crore net (₹1085 crore gross) in India, with the ₹900 crore milestone crossed during Wednesday’s morning shows.

Internationally, the film has been equally impressive. It opened to a strong $7 million overseas and amassed over $22 million in its first weekend. While weekday collections dipped slightly, the second weekend saw renewed momentum. By Tuesday, the film added just under $1 million overseas, pushing its international total to $38.4 million. It has now emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film in several overseas territories, including North America, where it surpassed the long-standing record of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

With global earnings now standing at ₹1435 crore gross, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has entered uncharted territory for Hindi cinema outside China. The only Indian film to have previously crossed this mark remains Dangal, which achieved the feat largely due to its massive run in China.

The film features a star-studded ensemble including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi alongside Ranveer Singh. Released on March 19, the sequel builds on the massive success of its predecessor, which earned ₹1300 crore worldwide and continues its theatrical run even three months after its December release. With its current pace, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now eyeing the ambitious ₹2000 crore milestone.

About cast

Having cast nearly 300 roles across the two films, Mukesh Chhabra describes the process as a massive challenge—one that took two years of his life, along with the efforts of eight assistants. In an exclusive chat with Hindustan Times, he reflected on the response to his work. When asked which role stood out as the most satisfying, he said, “I could say all of them. But Sara Arjun is a new talent. Finding a fresh face for such a significant role in a film with a massive star cast was challenging.” He added that the positive reception to Sara’s performance validated both his and director Aditya Dhar’s decision, noting that her ability to stand out made the effort truly worthwhile.
A former child actor, Sara Arjun was earlier known for films like Ponniyin Selvan, Ek Thi Daayan, and Saivam. Dhurandhar marked her first leading role, where she portrayed Yalina—the love interest and later wife of Hamza, played by Ranveer Singh.
