The Cyberabad Police detained a University of Hyderabad professor for allegedly abusing a Thai international student.

The Cyberabad Police detained a University of Hyderabad professor for allegedly abusing a Thai international student.

According to police, the incident occurred on Friday when the girl student was summoned to the professor’s apartment under the guise of delivering a book, when the accused reportedly attempted to molest her. After the complaint was filed, Cyberabad Police arrested the professor.

Madhapur Deputy Commissioner of Police K Shilpavalli stated, “The event occurred yesterday. The victim is an HCU student. She was escorted to the professor’s house under the guise of receiving a book, and there he attempted to molest her. Her buddies discovered her weeping and she gave some information. We have arrested both the complainant and the accused. We will take him into custody. The student is an international student from Thailand.”

Meanwhile, University students are raising their voice for women safety and security and are demanding for strict actions to be taken.

Earlier today, students were protesting against university administration for the delay in filing a police report against the accused. According to them, neither the Vice-Chancellor nor the Registrar met with the victim.
