Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav are scheduled to meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Delhi, today. The main agenda of the meeting is to unite the entire Opposition to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Nitish Kumar & Lalu Prasad Yadav will be attending a rally to be held in Fatehabad on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) founder late Chaudhary Devi Lal.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, earlier this week, had said, “Everyone needs to be alert, BJP needs to be uprooted in 2024.”

This is the first meeting between JD(U), RJD and Congress in the last 5 years.

During Nitish’s last visit, he met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury.

Nitish’s last meeting with the Opposition leaders came after he broke his alliance with the BJP-led NDA and joined hands with Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD, Congress and other parties to form the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ government in Bihar.
