One of India’s most significant recent match-winners is Pant. Though he first gained notoriety for his performances in the T20 format with the Delhi Capitals (formerly known as Delhi Daredevils) in the Indian Premier League, his Test record has received much praise.

Pant also served as Team India’s first-ever captain this season. Earlier this year, in June, Pant captained India in the first T20I matchup against South Africa. Additionally, he became the second-youngest cricketer to lead India in a T20 match. He was the eighth-youngest leader of the Men in Blue overall in all three versions.

Pant’s Test debut came in 2018 against England. Although Pant only managed to score 24 runs in his maiden innings, he made a terrific debut as a Test player. Pant became the first Indian to accomplish this exceptional achievement when he scored his maiden run in a Test match with a six.
