J&K: Massive forest fire erupts near LoC in Poonch

Rising temperatures has also affected the forests of Jammu and Kashmir

Forest fires are on the rise in concert with the rising temperatures. This has also affected the forests of Jammu and Kashmir.

A massive fire erupted once more in the woodlands adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch’s Mendhar region.

The entire region was drenched in flames and smoke. The woodland has been severely devastated by the fire, as evidenced by a drone view.

Many landmines near the LoC in the Poonch district exploded on Wednesday as a result of the forest fire.

Officials say the fire that started in a forest on the other side of the Line of Control on Monday has spread to the Indian border’s Mendhar sector.

As a result, approximately six landmines planted to prevent the invasion effort exploded. On Saturday, the woodlands of Poonch were once again set ablaze.
