A powerful explosion in Habib Nagar, Hazaribag district, Jharkhand, killed three people and left others injured on Wednesday, police said, shocking the local community.

Three victims, including a woman and another adult, died when a sudden blast rocked the area while residents were clearing a vacant plot of land. The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital in Hazaribag, where doctors described their condition as serious.

Jharkhand police responded quickly, sealing off the scene and beginning an investigation. Inspector General (IG) Operations and Jharkhand Police spokesperson Michaelraj S. said, “Three people, including a husband, wife and another woman, were killed in an explosion in Hazaribagh. The nature and cause of the explosion are being investigated.”

Police also called in forensic teams and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) unit to collect evidence and examine the site thoroughly.

Officials have not yet confirmed what caused the blast, and investigators are exploring all possibilities. Authorities have urged residents to stay calm while the inquiry continues. The powerful shock left residents terrified, and many gathered at the scene as emergency services worked to secure the area.
