Maruti Suzuki E-vitara lauches in India
Maruti Suzuki has finally launched its first fully electric SUV, the e Vitara regarding which the people have been talking about it all over the internet. The starting ex-showroom price of the SUV will be Rs 10.99 lakh. However, this price is for the car only the cost of battery is not included in this.
Maruti Suzuki is offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan. Instead of buying the battery upfront, customers will pay ₹3.99 for every kilometer they drive. This means the entry price looks low, but the actual running cost depends on how much you drive the car.
The e-Vitara is offered with two battery variants, offering a 49-kWh pack and a 61-kWh pack. The company claims that the newly launched e-SUV offers a driving range of up to 543 km, which is quite impressive for a first electric car from Maruti.
In terms of looks, the e-Vitara stays true to the electric SUV image. It has all-LED headlamps, and the bumper gets thick protective cladding that gives it a strong, muscular stance. The grille has shuttered that opens and closes automatically to help cool the battery when needed, which is an innovative touch for better efficiency and performance.
The SUV’s design is inspired by the eVX concept that Maruti had showcased prior. The mixture of sharp LED lights, solid body cladding, and clean lines makes the EV look modern and gives a good road presence
Bookings for the e-Vitara are already open, and interested buyers can book the car with a token amount of Rs 21,000. This shows Maruti is serious about getting customers into electric cars quickly.
This launch is a big milestone for Maruti Suzuki because it’s the first time the company has offered a battery-electric vehicle in India. The price and the BaaS model are meant to make EV ownership convenient and more affordable for many people who have been waiting for a proper electric SUV from the country’s top car maker.
With the e Vitara now officially out, the real test will be how buyers feel about owning an EV that separates the battery cost and how the company’s bold new plan works on Indian roads and wallets.
